Handling and Transportation FRP chimneys are lightweight but require careful handling to prevent damage. Use appropriate lifting equipment, such as nylon slings or padded hooks, to avoid surface scratches or cracks. Transport sections horizontally on padded supports to minimize stress. 3. Base Installation The base section must be securely anchored to the foundation using corrosion-resistant bolts or embedded plates. Apply a sealant between the base and foundation to prevent water ingress. Verify alignment using a level and adjust as needed before tightening bolts. 4. Stack Assembly FRP chimney sections are typically joined using flanged connections or adhesive bonding. For flanged joints, place a high-temperature gasket between sections and tighten bolts evenly in a crisscross pattern to ensure uniform compression. For adhesive bonding, clean surfaces thoroughly, apply the recommended resin, and clamp sections until cured. 5. Bracing and Support Tall chimneys require external bracing or guy wires to withstand wind loads. Install support rings or brackets at specified intervals, ensuring they are securely fastened to the chimney and supporting structure. Guy wires should be tensioned appropriately and anchored to stable ground points. 6. Internal Components If the chimney includes liners, dampers, or other internal components, install them according to manufacturer guidelines. Ensure proper alignment and sealing to prevent gas leakage or thermal stress. 7. Final Inspection After assembly, inspect all joints, supports, and connections for integrity.
